Moonlit Shores

Wandreth alone upon thy moonlit shores

lost and forlorn without my love

How deeply my desire for she

To see her face aglow in your light

No longer can I touch thy shore

This weakened man must rest.

Thy light guides me high upon a dune

      a clearing between two mounts

o’ that they were her breasts

Resteth I between

      nestled in warmth

      protected from the wind’s chill

On high thy full moon as be I

sits nestled between a circle of clouds

My love afar I see nestled in another’s arms

Each our own lives have we

      another’s arms embrace us

Yet to each mortal

      another side be

That which we find

      after having what we found

Ignore this love not can we

’tis as precious as thy loving light

When the moon is full

            I am with my love

though afar I feel her presence

Though we be in another’s arms

we gazeth upward to thy light

this moon lights both our skies

            all at once

we are in each other’s arms
