With You, By Myself

Here we are together at last

On a pier out over the lake

Wrapped in blankets against the cold

Midnight in autumn far north

      a frost is due tonight

Full moon to the south

Aurora to the north

The multitude of stars throughout

Adoring am I of all above

In awe of all am I

How much I want to share this with you

My love above, my love below

Yet tired and cold and restless art thou

Prefereth thou to be elsewhere I know

      how it hurts me so

Here I am with you . . . by myself

With You, By Myself
