Nature's Love

Next: My Love, the Seashore—at Night

Nature’s Love

Bequeath thine countenance upon me

      morning glow

Thine virgin breath removeth my despair

Renewed in essence be mine form

Scenteth I thine love upon me

      misty sea salts

      perfumed forest aroma

Thine being fills mine nostrils

Thine fingers brush back mine hair

Thine glow reflecteth golden upon me

Thine orchestra of crashing waves

      rustling leaves

All fills this child with wonder

Can I not remaineth with thee?

To pencil thine thoughts for all to read

To play in this garden

To give and receive

      and create anew?

Off to urban sprawl be I

To what we call work!

Why must this mortal creation

      take me away?

Grope throughout the day shall I

For a glimpse of the clouds through a window

Should the window be open, to feel thine cooling love

I can’t wait to be back in your arms tonight!
